My daughters' name is Kyrie, I did derive is from the prayer Kyrie Eleison...Lord Have Mercy...It has very special meaning to me, as this child was 10 years in the making and lost her twin siblings (she was a triplet) during pregnancy. Yes, the name is usually mispronounced; i.e. Ki-ree, Kurie, Kyra...but my little girl, now 4 will correct anyone who does so...I look at her, and see a Kyrie, and know that we picked selected the best name for her.

Kyrie is a cute name, but I prefer Kyra with Kyrie as a nn.

I think it's really pretty! I remember the song by Mister Mister very well. :)

I really like it, because of the Medieval monastic chant called the Kyrie. Very beautiful and otherworldly. I'd pr. the other one Gwih-NY-rah.

I think it sounds pretty but the meaning "lord" is too religious for me. I also suspect many people will mispronounce it.

I had a friend in high school named Kirsten, and she used Kyrie as a nn. It's cute but I wouldn't use it.

I actually like Kyrie, but after awhile it will be lumped in with Kylie and Kyler. I actually like all of those names, but would never use them.I think Winter Roisin said that Gwyneira is pronounced GWIN-eer-a

Kyrie isn't a name to me, but a word (noun). It has a trendy feel to it (joining the names Kaylee, Kylie, etc.) I don't care for it.I don't know about Gwyneira.
