Vivian's a boy name to me--Frances Hodgson Burnett named a son
Vivian, as did
Oscar Wilde (though he spelled it Vyvyan). For a girl, though, I like
Vivienne.
I think that
Vivienne Teresa or
Vivienne Tess would be very nice. I really detest both
Therese and
Hope (one of the soppiest virtue names in existence, along with
Faith and
Grace), so I'm afraid I can't advocate either.
The initials VD won't be a problem. Kids don't learn about venereal diseases in health anymore; if the term comes up, it comes up in history class. If you were planning on a girl named
Sylvie Tallulah Dorsett, though, or
Sara Tennyson-Ives, you would have more of a problem. :)
