Twins on the way! Name ideas..
Hello all! I'm new to the message board, but was looking for feedback on the names I have in mind for my twins. My four year-old daughter is Arden Grace, and I made the mistake of telling family and friends what I wanted to name her, in advance. I got plenty of comments from family and friends, telling me the name was horrible and not to name her that.. and you can imagine. Needless to say, my husband and I still named her what we wanted. This time, however, I wanted to try out some names before releasing them on my well-meaning - but highly opinionated - circle of family and friends. :)For twin girls, how do you all feel about..Emerson Maria
Campbell ChristineNicknames would be Emmy and Bella.
Also, our last name begins with an "M", I really like the idea of the initials being EMM and CCM. I think that would be cute. Opinions, please?

Campbell would be teased for the rest of her life.Having an unusual name, Haven, I can honestly say that as cool as it seems, its NOT a good idea. First of all, Campbell is a male name. Period. Second, its a soup. Third, its really, really stupid, to be blunt.I don't care for Emerson, because again, I think is stupid to use a name that means "Son" for a daughter. I also find it very sexist to use male names for females. You wouldn't give your son a feminine name, would you?Don't do Campbell. As much as I don't like Emerson, its been used. Campbell is just...insane.Siri

I dislike the first names. Those are simply NOT 's names. Here are some good names. Emeline Marie (or Maria, but I like Marie or Miriam)
Elissa Madeline
Elinor Madeline (I love the middle name Madeline) I think you would probably like Emeline, Emily, Emma, and/or Eloise.

Emerson and Campbell are nice but I don't really like them on girls. Emmy and Bella are nice though. If you want to have surnames as first names you might want to use Ainslie, Jocelyn, Kelly or Logan.

Don't use Logan for a girl. It is very much a male name as anyone who's seen X-men knows.

Your right. I just realized that I put that one in. I meant to put Lynn and Leslie instead.

I like Emerson and Campbell as first names for boys, not girls. I know it's a popular trend to name girls with last names, but I always prefer it for boys. I especially like Campbell for a boy if he is of scottish heritage.Emmy and Bella are cute, I would just use them on their own.

I love the nns Emmy and Bella, but I would use Emily and Isabella, for ex. or something similar. Emerson and Campbell are way too masculine for my taste - Campbell especially doesn't lend itself to a nn as purely feminine as Bella. These fns do go well with Arden, though. I love Maria, Christine and Grace.

Honestly, I do not like either name. Emilia Marie would be gorgeous, as would Annabelle Christine and still you give the Emmie and Bella nicknames. Emerson and Campbell sound way too masculine to me.

I like Arden Grace and Campbell Christine. I do not think Emerson is so nice for a girl though, I guess because of the son on the end. I think Emerie Marie or Emery Maria would be nice though. Or maybe:
Emmerlyn Maria
Emlyn Maria
Emmalyn Maria
Esme Maria
Elmire Maria
Emmeraud Maria (eh-meh-ROAD)
Emerald Maria
Emmersyn Maria
Emmanuelle Maria
Emmette Maria
Emilian Maria
Damienne Maria
Amiel (ah-mee-EHL) Marie
Demetri Maria
Ramielle Maria
Symeon Maria
Eamon (AY-mun) Maria

My opinions:Emerson: means son of Emery - a daughter is not a son.
Other ideas that can also have nn Emmy: Emery, Emilia, Emilie, Emelina, Emeline, Emely, Emer, Emerald, Emelia, Emily, Emmeline, Emmaline, and Emma. Campbell: is a boys name to me. and the meaning isn't the nicest. Who wants a meaning of 'crooked mouth'?
Other ideas: Cameron, Camryn, Camilla, Camila, Camille, Cambria, Camillia.
Other ideas with nn Bella: Amabel, Annabel, Christabel, Christobel, Claribel, Isabel (and variants), Jezebel, Maribel, Rosabel, Belinda, Bellona, Bellatrix.Maria and Christine are not my style but they are nice.:o)

Haha, well if you want to avoid Campbell for "Crooked Mouth", Cameron wouldn't be the way to go since it means "Crooked Nose"

Arden is beautiful! However Emerson and Campbell are very masculine to me.How about Cambria or Camryn instead of Campbell, and Emeline, Emerald, Emilia or Emmaline instead of Emerson.

First of all, congrats.Arden Grace is very pretty. As for the twin names...I am sorry, but I think Emerson and Campbell are very boyish. I would automatically think they were boys if I saw the names in print (without the middle names).Maria and Christine are fine. How about Emmeline Maria
Emily Maria
Camryn Christine
Isabelle Christine

Thank you so much! :)Yes, we were also thinking about Emmaline (or Emilia, with a different mn) and Isabella as other options, but were leaning more towards the boy-ish names, which we generally like the sound of better. Also, they seem to go along with Arden. Granted, I guess I just have a strange preference for boys' names for girls. :)
