Nickname Help!

Theres a boy in school called David and everyone calls him D.D. or Deedee.
Daffy is a Welsh one I really like. It's used in the book Slammerkin, and I really like the character by that name.
Otherwise...

Avvy
Div

Diddo
David itself is all right, though. I really do like the nickname Davy, though I'm not sure why. Maybe it's Davy Jones's fault.

I have a friend named David whom I call Daz.
Daz, Day, Dav (DAHV instead of DAYV), Vida (VEE-da)
For Amadeus, Dee, Day, May, Mase.

Daffy/ Daff is quite often used in Wales. I'm not sure how keen I would be on them being used by someone without a Welsh accent though. Possibly 'D': My Dad calls his brother Oliver 'O', and it works. I do like David on its own though.
I like the name Amadeus, but it does seem to cry out for a nickname, if only to be used by friends. Somehow none I can think of seem to do the full name justice though.
My thoughts: Am, Ami, Amus, Adi, Mad (pronounced with a slightly shorter a than the adjective). My favourite attempts are Amo and Dei.

I honestly don't think David needs a nn at all; it's short and very easy to say.
