Leo or Louis
Both myself and my husband love the name Louis but are a bit concerned that if he grows to be six foot plus, like his father ,Louis might be a bit poncy(!)so we were considering Leo,what do you think?

Definately Leo if you're looking for a strong name, I think.

Leo just makes me thing of the star sign and the nickname for Leonardo DiCaprio. Louis is much more substantial and it will age well. I wouldn't change the child's name again.

I don't think Louis sounds poncy. I'm not sure what "poncy" means though. You've already changed your sons name once already, haven't you? I don't think you should do it again; it sounds like it might get kind of complicated. I'd stick with Louis.~*~*~*~SilverSliver

I definitely prefer Leo. Actually I like Louis, but you're right, it's verging on the poncy side. Only just verging. I prefer Louie, but again, it's not got much strength.Stragely, I find Lughaidh - pronounced the same - to be perfectly masculine. Perhaps it's all those extra consonants :-p

Well I love Leo. What about the Lewis spelling instead of Louis?I don't think Louis is 'poncy' at all. But the nn Loui would be, in my opinion. But there is the nn Lou.

I'd go with Leo. People may get confused with which way they are supposed to pronounce Louis, which would get annoying, having to correct people all the time.

I love Louis pronounced Louie i really dont like Lewis and i think if your son turned out to be 6 foot everyone would assume he was a boof head.Leo is very handsome too!

Poncy! I love that word..I think Louis pronounced Louie could be a bit eerie on a big guy, but Lewis wouldn't, nor Lou / Lew as a nickname. Leo is even better though, in my opinion.- chazda
