Deena (and more)
Looking at the female names everyone suggested in my last post, I did like a few of the names. However, I am VERY into the meaning of the names, and I have to really like it. Therefore, names I like that got crossed off include: Naomi (kind of like it, sort of), Leah (I like the Lee sound, especially since a REALLY good friend mn is Lee and he is one of few I would honor if I choose to do that), Josephine and Chloe. I like them, but their meanings dont interest me.I am left with Zoe and Deena. However, BtN doesnt give a direct meaning to Deena, so here is my question to you. When you hear, think of Deena, what do you think of? Is it a name all in itself or is it a variant of Diana or Dinah or Dean? Any suggestions, names dont really have to be biblical, its just a really nice plus for me. The meaning is important however. (Again: I have problems with girls because if I grew up with a girl with a name, I dont tend to like it...I didnt get along with almost any girl I grew up with).WDYTO:
Zoe Rachel
Zoe Rebecca
Deena Rachel
Deena Zoe
WDYTO these boy combos, the first one is the one I want to use the most, second is the second favorite and so forth:Nathan Joshua
Simon Zachary
Jared Micah
Joel Nathan (if didnt use Nathan Joshua, but really want to use Nathan as a first name)
Elijah Simon (if didnt use Simon Zachary, but really want to use Simon as a first name)
Micah Zachary (if didnt use Simon Zachary)
Jeremiah Benjamin "Jem"I really like Nathan and Simon together, and I think any of the others would make a nice third (I really want all boys, and I will most likely have 3 kids)THANKS!

Deena to me is the right prononciation of Dina / Dinah.

I like Zoe Rebecca and Deena Rachel.
I love the name Deena or Dina - it first caught my attention as the name of the gorgeous actress Dina Meyer. All the sources I've found agree that Dina is probably a form of Dinah, Hebrew meaning 'judged' in an apparently positive sense (vindicated by God?). One of them suggests that it is a short form of names ending in -dina such as Claudina, Bernardina, maybe even Adina (another biblical name). I think it's safe to choose for yourself among these possible meanings, because there's no way any one of them could be affirmatively documented, and different instances probably have different origins.I like your first three boy combos together too. Personally, if I were using biblical boy names I'd pick Ira as the third name because I like the sound of it :-), but Jared probably "fits" better with the general feel of Nathan and Simon.

I tend to think of Deena as it's own freestanding name, not as a variant of Diana or female version of Dean. Does that make sense? I don't know exactly how to explain it.Zoe Rachel - like it
Zoe Rebecca - the flow seems off
Deena Rachel - I like this one the best of the four.
Deena Zoe - the flow seems off. It's a little ee heavy for my ears.Nathan Joshua - okay. I like Nathan. I think this is a very young sounding name.
Simon Zachary - I think this is my favorite of them all.
Jared Micah - okay. It doesn't dazzle me as much as Simon Zachary but there's nothing bad about it.
Joel Nathan - I think it sounds nice.
Elijah Simon - this soudns a little off to me although I can't determine why.
Micah Zachary - I prefer Simon Zachary but this is nice too.
Jeremiah Benjamin - hmm, I'm undecided on this one.

Well, Dina (which I would pronounce the same way as Deena) is listed as a variant of Dinah in "From Aaron to Zoe." It means "God has judged" or "God has vindicated."Your boy's names are all the same to me. I confess to being weary of Old Testament boy names, but I do understand parents wanting a name that would propbably not be turned into a girl name.
