Lindsay
I love the name Lindsay for a girl. What do you think of it? I know it has already peaked in popularity in the 80's but I still think it is so pretty and feminine sounding (even if it was originally a boy's name). WDYT?

It's very tired and trendy for a girl imo. On a boy, Lindsay sounds a lot more refreshing and Victorian-esq to me.
So, I much prefer the name on a boy, sorry.

I'm not a fan. I do prefer the Lindsay spelling, though. Not sure why. It just strikes me as being lumped in with all those other cutesy unisex names of the 1980's (Courtney, Ashley, Brittany, etc.), and bratty kids I used to take care of when I worked in a day care. :b
BTW--I guess that's one reason I prefer less common names, because I know SO many kids. And I remember names so well, that I can't hear a name like Lindsay (or Brooke or Austin) without cringing because of at least ONE child I took care of that was a terror with that name. LOL

What did Lind say? Sorry, just, a little joke. Lindsay is one of the most beautifulest name from the 80s, I think. I don't think I would use the name Lindsay, but it's really pretty.
I like Lindsay, and since it's popularity has already peaked it would probably be unique to your child.
I have a cousin named Lindsey. I personally prefer that spelling since it doesn't look like it sound be pronounced "Lind-SAY". My cousin has a strong theory that her name should be pronounced "Lind-see"...as if the name was spelled with a C (like Lindcey) instead of with a Z (like Lindzey). I help her enforce it since I have to agree that no one pronounces Kelsey or Chelsey with a Z sound. Kelzey and Chelzey would be ridiculous. So, that said, with the appropriate pronunciation, I really like the name(even though it's '80s). I like it for boys or girls.

Haha..since I'm on my photobucket account, you get a picture too(just because I feel like posting one). This is my cousin, she's a model.
Here, want a picture of Harmonia too?
Have one either way.

I like it, but only for a boy.
I really like it too :-) I usually prefer names like that for boys, like Ashley, but I do prefer Lindsay on a girl. It's not that popular where I live, and the few that I've known have been wonderful people.
I was friends with a girl named Lynzie in elementary school...I have to say, I don't care for her spelling :-)

It's OK, but far too popular where I live. I prefer the spelling Lindsie.

Sorry, but I really don't like Lindsay for a girl. However, I like it for a boy.
I prefer Lindsey for a girl. As far as I know, Lindsey is the original female spelling. I've known a couple of male Lindsays, so that spelling looks too masculine to be a girls' name for me.
It's funny but I've always read the opposite. That Lindsay is the female spelling and Lindsey is more male. Hmmm...both are nice imo. :)
ditto(m)
I've always though Lindsey was the original female spelling too.

it's okay
I've always had a soft spot for it because its close to my mom's name, and DH and I considered using it to honor her. BUT, without that connection, it seems like a sort of light weight cheerleader's name to me. I still like it, but it has that feel to me.
I think its great, my step daughter's name is Lyndsey.
I agree I also like the name Lindsay a lot, just that spelling though I'm not a fan of it spelt Lindsey. I knew a lot of Lindsay's growing up in the 80's but I think it hasnt been overused for awhile now so it wont be too bad. Plus like you said it's nice to have such a feminine name when most of the names are unisex now!
