Two adult Danish sisters from a magazine.
Named Jean (prn JEEN) and Jeanne (prn ZHAN-nuh).
ZHAN-nuh is the Danish way of pronouncing Jeanne. It's very valid when you hear the names, but on print it looks so weird. I had to take a double take, to make sure that I saw what I saw.
My personal opinion is: Though they sound different in pronouncication, which I can agree with, but it looks very odd on a piece of paper. The names are too close to each other, and these sisters aren't even twins.
What was the parents were thinking, nameing them these very alike looking names? *Sighs*

I pronounce Jean JEEN and Jeanne ZHAN...
And I only speak English.
Then again, my sister and grandmother are both named Jean. My sister goes by Jeannie, to distinguish the two.
I like both Jean and Jeanne, but would never use them both for my children, especially identical twins. Actually, I probably wouldn't use Jean, Jeannie, or Jeanne period, because I know too many of them (two in my family, one a family friend).
