Nathaniel?
Do you think Nathaniel Jonas sounds nice? It sounds a little like my favourite Samuel. I seem to have a thing for 'el' endings. If you had to choose between Samuel and Nathaniel, which would you choose? Also what about the spelling, Does Nathanael look misspelt? It's the Biblical spelling so I kind of like it.Thanks :)Edd: July 27, 2005(8 more days before we find out if we are having a boy or girl!)

I like the combo Nathaniel Jonas. I'd prefer Nathaniel Jonah though, just because I prefer Jonah to Jonas. If I had to choose between Samuel and Nathaniel and I was planning on using the name as a fn, then I'd go with Samuel, but if it was for a mn, then I'd probably go with Nathaniel. Also, I much prefer Nathaniel to Nathanael.

Haha, I like a lot of boys names that end with -el as well. Nathaniel & Gabriel are two favorites. I also love Percival, which has a similar sound. I'm not fond of the Nathanael spelling though.Nathaniel Jonas is nms.As for picking between Samuel & Nathaniel, my personal choice would be Nathaniel, but it would all depend on the middle name you would choose. : )

I think Nathaniel Jonas is really really nice, I like it a lot, but I like Jonah better than Jonas. I'd choose Samuel over Nathaniel, -only because I slightly prefer Nathan-, but both are lovely.
I prefer the spelling Nathaniel.Nice names!

I prefer Nathaniel to Nathanael although I can't really say why. If I had to choose between Nathaniel and Samuel I would definitely pick Nathaniel because I've always liked the name and I've never cared for Samuel.

I prefer Nathanael, mostly because it's more unusual. I love the name, and would definitely choose it over Samuel._____________________________________________________________________"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true."Elinor

Nathaniel Jonas actually sounds better imo than Nathanael Jonas, but I prefer the Hebrew form Nathanael, I'm more used to it (to me it's Nathaniel that looks misspellt). :)I love Samuel though, I plan to use it for my children (on the form Shmuel).

Nathaniel is a great name, but I don't care for Jonas (I think Jonas takes away from the masculinity of Nathaniel).I like both Samuel and Nathaniel. If you're one who is dos not really like common names, then I would say Nathaniel. But, I really like both names, and it depends on the middle name.Nathanael does look odd to me - yes, misspelt. I think it would cause spelling problems in the long run, since people are accustomed to the spelling Nathaniel.

I like this spelling of Nathanael, but Nathaniel is nice too.If I had to choose, I would pick Nathanael over Samuel. But I like the nn Sam much more than the nn Nate or Nathan.Mel

I like Nathaniel Jonas the best. It does sound good. Samuel JOnas would sound good, too. I guess I would have to know your last name to see which sounds the best. Good luck!

I really do like Nathaniel much better than Samuel, though I don't like the spelling Nathanael.
The combination Nathaniel Jonas, is ok, but very biblical, which drags the name down a bit.

We love biblical names, so it doesn't drag it down for us. Thanks for replying :)Edd: July 27, 2005(8 more days before we find out if we are having a boy or girl!)

I like both but I would pick Samuel. No real reason other than personal preference. Both are great names in my opinion.I don't like the spelling Nathanael. Even though it is the original, I can't help but think it looks misspelled when I see it.
