I didn't used to, but it's grown on me. It's quite pretty.

Since that's my name....(m)I guess I'm a bit of an expert on it. :)I didn't love my name growing up--it was too common, though I know many more Heathers that are 3-4 years younger than myself (I'm 28). And right now there's 3 of us at work, and it can get confusing.
There's also the bimbo stereotype, which I'm well aware of. But most of the Heathers I've met--including myself, of course--are not bimbos. Far from it. :) I'm not blonde either, btw. I like the idea of the name now. The fact that I can find a flower, fragrance and color with "Heather" in the name is kind of cool. And I recently went to Ireland (I want to go to Scotland so badly....) and took pictures of a few fields of heather. Unfortunately it was March so it was all dead heather. :( As others have said, the popularity of the name has kind of ruined it for many. I see it as a better name than Stephanie or Kimberly, for instance (though I am a bit biased), though they're all very common for girls/women my age, but we're probably seen as just another Heather, Kim, Jennifer (ugh, I used to constantly get called Jennifer), etc. Sorry to ramble on so... I have seen a few babies recently named Heather. I'm not sure why it crops up here and there. But I've also seen some named Brenda, Phyllis, etc. and other names that have done their time and should probably just go away, too. :b

It was nice in it's day.

I hate it. There is nothing nice about it, imo.

I think if this name had never been very popular that it would be beautiful and would probably even be a favorite of mine. As it is, I would never, ever, ever even consider it. I was born in 1976, and there was a whole gaggle of Heathers around my age. (Ever seen the movie Heathers?)
I think because of its popularity at that time I do associate it with a certain bimboesque cheapness. And it's NOT the nature of the name or even the people I knew who had that name. I think whenever a certain girl's name becomes really popular in one generation, and there are suddenly a bunch of teenage girls with that name it just causes it to seem that way, e.g. Britney, etc.
Someday those will be quaint, old-lady names, and then people will start using them again, LOL.

Beautiful name, but not with any last name ending in "er" also.

pretty name

I like it as a character name. For real use it seems a bit flimsy. It's not a bad name, but it suffered a period of overuse that make many namenerds dislike it.~ Arcadia

I really love this name. I hate that some people associate it with a bimbo because I don't get that at all-it is soft and sweet sounding. It would be on my list of girl's names except that my husband dated a Heather! :)

I don't care for it; I don't like the sound of it.
