Re: Honour or Ona?
Honor/Honour and Ona are pronounced the same? Maybe with a Boston accent! lol
I don't care for Ona, the look or sound of it, for some reason. But I love Honour, as well as Annora and Honora (and Onora, as Elinor suggested).

How do you pronounce them then??!

Well seeing as one has an "r" on the end and one doesn't, it seems obvious, but....Honour: like the word honor/honour, "AH-norr"Ona: looks like OH-nah, could be like Ana = AH-nahOr if one is from Boston, he or she might say the word honor so it sounds like AH-nah, but I don't see that as the usual pronunciation.

It's an accent thing - Catherine is British. As an Australian I can see what she means!:-)

Really? I can't imagine a British or Australian person saying Honour/Ona the same, but hell, I live in Florida so what do I know? LOL :bI guess the Bostonian would make the -our into an -ah sound, and the Brit/Australian might do the opposite. That makes sense, I guess.

The word 'Honour' we say 'On-er'

So you say Ona the same way, On-er?????? There's no "R" in it.
