Dylan for a girl?
And if so, what middle name would go with it?

No!! Please no! It's far too masculine for a female!

Sorry, I only like it for a boy.

I always thought it sounded cute on a little girl. I think I would only use it on a boy but i think its perfectly okay on a girl. I mean so many other names are okay on girls now too. why not dylan? just stick to Dylan or Dillon , dont try to make it look girlier.

Would never have considered it for a girl were it not for Sean Penn and Robin Wright naming a girl Dylan Frances - I saw that and thought, "Huh, it works for me." Normally, I'm a bit of a snob about using traditionally boy's names on girls, but using this on a girl wouldn't offend me at all. Especially if you have a special affinity for Dylan Thomas or that other Dylan who used his name, Bob Dylan.

I only like Dylan for a boy. I don't know of any female Dylan's, nor do I see it in any birth announcements for a girl. It's strictly masculine to me.

I don't see how this has come to be a girl's name, it's so masculine to me!

No, I find it quite offensive when male names are used on girls, ecspecially when the name is still in use. Dylan is also a god.
If you want something mildly similiar I would go for Aylen, Keelan or
Caelan alice x

No! Dylan's a Welsh male name, and always has been. Indeed, it's the name of a god! It's like naming your daughter Poseidon, I think.Dylana's pretty, I think. I like it pronounced sort of like dil-LUN-a, but it could also be pronounced dil-LAN-a.Miranda

I don't dislike it on a girl, but it's maybe a bit trendy because of Charlie's Angels. (Having said that, it's trendy on a boy too).Dylan Katheryn would be quite nice, or Dylan Juliet.

NO WAY! If you check the link, you will see that Dylan is not just a surname like so many other boy-turned-girl names, but a Welsh male name. Therefore, I don't like it at all on a girl. Sorry!

I agree.Dylan Thomas is, like, the only Welsh writer to get any attention by the world at large. Appreciate his coolness and only use Dylan on a boy, if you must use it at all.Array
