Prefer Olivia and Milo.

I don't care for Olivianna, because Olivia is frilly enough in itself without adding -anna. I also dislike the "anna" spelling in all such names (Lilianna, Julianna, Adrianna ...) because they seem modern compared with the more balanced, classical-looking Liliana, Juliana and Adriana. Actually Oliviana would be nice :-)

I immediately misread Olivanna first for Oliver and then for Oliviana. It involves too much work on my part and is a combination of two of my least favourite names. I don't like it.
On the other hand, I adore Milo. Mylo, no. The Y throws me off, and it looks weird.
As for nicknames for Margaret, my favourites are Daisy and Marlo. Marlo has a nifty retro-feel. I've also started to like Madge a lot, as well as Margo and Margolo. I think that the ones that end in O have a lot of spunk. :)

I like Madge, and Marlo.
With Marlo, however, I fear that's all she will be known by. My niece is Mira, and she has never been called anything but Mira. Most people don't even realize its a nickname. So, I might just want to use Marlo or Margot, methinks.

Actually I think Olivanna is quite pretty. It's different but not weird. I like it.
I MUCH prefer the spelling of Milo. Mylo just looks silly in my opinion.

I prefer Olivianna (with the i), and I like Mylo (that spelling only - not Milo). I like them.

Olivanna - I like Olive, Olivia and Anna but Olivanna looks a bit strange to my eyes, too many vowels? I like it better than Olivianna though as it 'flows' better
Mylo - I actually prefer this to Milo but it's nms really, a bit too modern
Margaret Helen - I agree the Maggie sounds whiney, Margot is beautiful!

Olivanna - is pretty but when i first glanced at it I thought it was Olivianna and many people might think it is a mis spelling of that

Also...nicknames for Margaret.
I love this name, and will probably use it for my daughter. (If I ever have one) Ken likes it, too. I'd prefer Helen Margaret, but Ken likes Margaret Helen. Since I love both names, I'll let him have Margaret Helen. Well, herein lays the problem. First, we have a cat named Margaret, nn Maggie. Ken would like to use the nickname Maggie. I don't. I really don't like the name. It just sounds very whiny to my ears. I do like Margo(t)quite a bit, but then that is all she would be known by. Meg is Ken's ex-girlfriend, and he doesn't like Greta. My family would demand a nickname, and I didn't provide her with one, she would be Maggie.
So...Any opinions?

My name is Margaret and I like it a lot. As for the nickname issue, there are a lot, which is great as a kid. I went/go by Meg or Margaret with most people, but my friends love to give me nicknames. As you can see by my screen name, Madge is one of them. I think it's too "old lady" for a kid...but fun for me (19 years old). I also go by Marge...same issue as with Madge. I dislike the Maggie...and never go by it. The name inspires "fun" nicknames that can be made up with friends...I've gone by Moga, Mags, Maggan, etc. These aren't in great use, just something for friends etc. I say name your kid Margaret, and then go with the flow. My aunt is Peggy, a girl on my hockey team is Greta (though not short for Margaret). It's common enough that I have NEVER been made fun of for it, but not so I've ever been in a class with another person who goes by Margaret (have had many Maggies and too many Megans). It's a classic. Also, my middle name is Rose, but I think Helen is also a good middle name.
PS..I like the name Daisy as a nickname too, though I've never used it and can't imagine using it myself.

I don't care for Margaret (I don't like the sound of it) or Helen (I think Helena is much prettier), but Margaret Helen does flow better than Helen Margaret (Helena Margaret flows, though). I know a Margaret (20-years-old) who goes by Maggie, because she hates her name. I don't think nicknames should be planned, but left up to the child, and if you don't like the name, but she does, then so be it. But, Maggie works, and you could try Meg or Marg. I like Margo as a formal name.

Each of kids have a nickname. I don't have a formal one, but within the family I'm known as Favy. There are tons of silly nicknames, too. Isaac was nicknamed Ikey, and it stuck. Much to his mother's dismay. Mira has never been called Miranda since the day she was born. Even my baby niece, Brianna, was nicknamed Bria.
I don't know why I love Margaret or Helen as much as I do. I just find them timeless, beautiful, with lots of amazing namesakes. Lots of people don't-which is another plus.

btw... Ken named the cat, I didn't.
She's actually Margaret Magellan. I stupidly didn't want a cat with a male name, so he added Margaret to it and called her Maggie. For a cat, its a fine name. For my daughter, no. (And I really, really wish I'd kept Maggie's name as Magellan. It fits her so much better.)
