Princeton for a boy
I was thinking today that Princeton would make a nice boy's name. I know it is very similar to Preston or Prince, but I like the sound of it better. I realize its a surname and it is a University, but what about for a first name?

The first guy I ever had a crush on was named Princton Brown. That said, it does not make the best name. Everyone agreed that it was weird and silly - it just happened that the guy who bore it was cool enough to pull it off...in the 6th grade. I can't see it working in the adult world.~ Arcadia

I don't like it

I think of the University...a place. And with Prince within it, it just makes me cringe. So, I don't care for it.

I'm sorry, I don't like it at all. First of all, there are only one or two surnames that I like as fns,
Secondly, it's a university, and as it was mentioned before, it would make things awkward for him (imagine a Princeton attending Harvard :-P).
Three, the word prince is extremely cissy IMHO, and Princeton sounds extremely snob to me: not really elegant but trying very hard.

I know its weird but i really like the name Prince for a guy, i would never ever use it, but its nice.Princeton is nice but only for a middle name

Hm, see my post above re: Compton. A guy named Princeton would almost certainly get nicknamed; Princeton isn't even as colloquial-sounding as Compton is. Princeton does look cool on paper, but I think it'd be awkward in real life. The university name gives it an uppity cast. - chazda

I dislike it for the reasons you mentioned: the fact that it's a surname and a university. Imagine the horrors that would ensue when he got to university age! Also, it sounds very snooty to me, probably because of "Prince" and also the university reputation.~ Cait
