HelpRe: good nickname for Elena?

I don't think a nickname is necessary for Elena, and I can't say I like Nelly. It reminds me of horses (which I don't like) and Nellie Oleson from the Little House books (who was awful).
If I had a daughter named Elena, I would call her by her full name--or by a nickname completely unrelated to her name, like Slinky or Cricket. I'm all right with having an idea of a nickname in mind with a name, if it's a longer one with several options, just so an Elizabeth didn't automatically become a Liz. But with a short name without many nicknames (like Elena), I think it's silly.
