I think that regardless of what name you give to your child, it will always be shortened and given a nickname.

Not in my case

I was always Miranda. Never Mira, Randy / Randie, Andy / Andie, Mandy / Mandie, or anything else. I never specified that I didn't want a nn, people just never seemed to call me anything but Miranda.
