It is a very old Judeo Spanish name still used nowadays (http://www.google.fr/search?q=cache:8EPJxKxtgBkJ:www.yucs.org/~jules/names/navarra.html+luna+moon&hl=fr). I know a Luna, about 40 years I think (her Jewish name is Levana, which has the same meaning). It's a beautiful name, but people don't often think about it (I dunno why).

I like it, the sound and meaning. It does smack vaguely of the word 'lunatic,' but that word is rather romantic (that is, it's almost always used as hyperbole and never for the mentally ill except in fanciful contexts). So I think the 'lunatic' connection is more a reminder of the old idea that the moon drives you crazy: Luna seems unpredictable, a dreamer, eccentric -- but not ill. - chazda

I really like it! I like Calla Luna, but this is a reminder of Stellaluna (the book). Very cute name though.-Seda*

I like it alot but it reminds me of the word "lunatic". I wouldn't use it except as a possible middle name.
