Some Slovenian names; WDYT & how to pronounce them?
I'm not sure if these names are originally Slovenian, but all of these girls were from there.
I'd like to know how they should be pronounced. Any ideas?
Ajda
Emina
Manca
Neja
Polona
Špela
Tinkara
Tjaša
I especially liked Ajda, Emina and Neja.

Love Emina! My dad's family is Serbo-Croatian and one of my favorite traditional songs is about a woman named Emina (although Emina is Slovenian). I would love to use at least a mn. I also really like Neja.
I'd say..
Ajda - EYE-da.
Emina - eh-MEE-na.
Manca - Man-sa, perhaps?
Neja - neh-ya.
Polona - po-loh-na.
Špela - sh-peh-la
Tinkara - Tin-kah-ra.
Tjaša - Ti-yah-sha.
The š is definitely a 'sh' sound. I have a penpal called Urška who is Slovene, and she pronounces it Oor-shka.

oops; I guess it should be Slovene instead of Slovenian...
