Liam
Would you just use Liam as a full first name or name a son William and call him Liam? I'm not sure which I would prefer. I love the name! What are your thoughts on it? Thanks!

Love William, dislike Liam

I would use just Liam. In the English I speak, Liam isn't a natural nickname for William -- Will is. I actually think of Liam as an independent name based on William, rather than as a short form of it, because that's the only way I've ever encountered it.
I like it alright. An old friend of mine recently named her son Liam.

(my opinion only of course)
If going to use the name Liam at all, it is only acceptable as a nn. William is such a wonderful name itself, no nn is needed. However, if going to call a son Liam, name him William, and use Liam as the nn. Its a nice change from the ever popular Will, but Wiliam is much more perfered.
