Its popular, but certainly not overly used in my opinion. I love the name. I might really be bais on it though. My mom was going to name me David and my best friend in pre-school was David and the only jock in my high school who didnt do drugs was named David. All ass. are great, and I have loved the name since my mother told me it would have been my name, if a boy. If you have read A Child Called It, really sad book, but the author (its a personal story) is named David and I see a lot of strong willed Davids. Not to mention the great biblical sense, that I also adore.

It certainly is popular, but I love it. Not so much on the nn, Davy is okay as a toddler (but even than I prefer it as a nn for Davida, a girl). I love the name.
