Annora/Honora/Honor
These three names popped into my head today. My favorite is Annora, followed by Honor. Annora is Medieval, not made up. Anyway, what do you think of it? I'd probably either call her Annora, or Nora. Anyway, what do you guys think? Also, my top combos at the moment:
Acantha Rose (a-CANTH-a)
Helen Acacia
Aviva Joy
Lilian Annora
Leonard Allan
Andreas Raphael
Alaric Kenneth
Augustus Tancred (Tang-kred)

I love Honora/Annora. I lean towards just Nora because if I used either Annora or Honora I'd probably call her Nora. I've seen Annora before and know it's a real name but not everyone knows that, and I'd rather not have people think I made it up. :- Also, as much as I LOVE Honora, in theory, esp. since I'd call her Nora, the Ho- in front seems like easy teasing fodder, 'There's the ho, Nora.' But maybe I'm really stretching it, there. :b
As for the others, I really like Acantha (although I'm a nurse, so I can't help but see 'acanthosis' there) and Augustus.

I have liked the name Annora for the longest time! It's so pretty, I also really like Honora and Honoria, Honor not so much. I don't however like the nn Nora at all.
Acantha Rose-nms
Helen Acacia-beautiful, I love it
Aviva Joy-don't really like
Lilian Annora-I don't really like Lilian and I'd use Annora as a fn
Leonard Allan-not really a fan of Allan, Leonard looks incomplete to me, I like Leonardo better
Andreas Raphael-really nice!
Alaric Kenneth-nms
Augustus Tancred-I like it

I really like Annora too. All your combos are lovely as usual, but here are the ones I especially like:
Helen Acacia
Aviva Joy - I vaguely remember this being the name of a regular contributer to The Compleat Mother magazine. I know her fn was Aviva, and I'm about 90% her second name was Joy
I would like Acantha Rose too if it didn't mean "thorny rose", which is just... nms in regards to meaning.
Leonard Allan
Andreas Raphael
Augustus Tancred

I love Annora - it's in several of my books and the medieval sites.
Being a Brit, Honor obviously looks a little off to me as I'd spell both the word and the name as Honour, but I like that too, especially as a middle name.
I really like Acantha Rose (prefer Akantha - that spelling appears quite often in the myth too). I generally think of Rose as a filler, but when it's paired with an unusual first name, it seems much less of one.
Aviva Joy is really beautiful and the meaning is inspiring.
I also love Lilian Annora (prefer Annora Lilian), and love to see Lilian with one L. The spelling with two has always seemed so unnecessary to me.
The boys' names aren't my style ... They aren't bad names, it's just that they sound quite aloof or dated or something ... I can't put my finger on it to be honest. I don't mind Andreas, Raphael and Kenneth indivually (probably all as middle names).

I like Annora! Better than Honora, to me.
Acantha Rose (a-CANTH-a) - Acantha, frankly, makes me think of a medical or anatomical term. Not sure why.
Helen Acacia - Nice combo!
Aviva Joy - nice.
Lilian Annora - Lilian doesn't thrill me; sounds a bit frumpy to me, to be brutally honest. Like Annora tho. Also the repetition of -an Ann- isn't great. Lily Annora?
Juno Astraea (I'm going ahead and pronuncing it ah-STRAY-ah) - People will say either a-STRAY-a or a-STRY-a, I think. This combo is terrific!
Embla Anastasie - Embla sort of reminds me of the words dissemble, emblem, assembly, and embolism .. a bit too much for my taste; and also it just sounds sort of blurted out, unstructured, to me. Anastasie, I simply can't pronounce.
Leonard Allan - nice.
Andreas Raphael - nice.
Alaric Kenneth - Nice, except for the adjacent c/k sounds.
Augustus Tancred (Tang-kred) - Neat.
Have you ever run across Leofric? I thought maybe you would like it.
- chazda
Lily Annora and Lily Athena were the favorites of me and my ex..
He still wants to name his first born Lily Athena. Leofric is cool, but I'm not sure if it would for a human. A cat, definatly. I'm glad someone likes Juno Astraea!
Anastasie is pro. ana-stas-e.
THanx for the feed back!

Acantha Rose (Acantha means thorny, right?)
Augustus Tancred
Andreas Raphael
Alaric (love the way this sounds)
Embla Anastasie
Honor is one of my favourite names, don't like Honora and have never heard of Annora but really like it (would use nn Annie probably)
Btw. (stupid question) where do you find Medieval names?! I know Elinor has a few as well, thanks

For female names, I use the same Miranda mentioned (http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/reaney/)
Another excellent one for both genders is http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~oel/givennames.html#A
Hope this helps!
