I think it is very sweet. I come back to it often also. I don't think I would have liked it five years ago but now I think of the character of Charlotte on Sex and the City who was beautiful and upper class. So I get a great image in my mind of the name. I like the nicknames of Carly (a bit of a stretch I know) and Charlie is kind of cute but I detest Lottie. It sounds like an old frumpy woman to me! I can't imagine a teenager named Lottie!!

I agree that Carly isn't a stretch as a nn. I've heard of Carly for a nn for Charlotte before, and it's the one I like best (besides not using one at all), although Lottie and Charlie are OK.
I never watched Sex & the City (unless the rest of the world, lol), so I don't connect the name with the character on that show. So therefore it's unspoiled for me. :b

I love this name too, btw, and Carly is not a stretch for Charlotte! I think it's great :)
