I quite like Blythe, althouhg probably more as a middle name. Only on a girl for me too, though - not many vocab. names work on boys, and this isn't one of the exceptions imo.

I think Blythe has a British feel to it. Very classy, understated elegence; a sweet slightly old fashioned yet fresh sounding name. I like a lot and think it is simple yet pretty.

I like Blythe for a middle name. One of my fave combos with it is Charlotte Blythe.

Hi, Its a name I toyed with when naming my daughters. I could never see it as a boys name though I know it is used as such.
I think it is pretty but look up its meaning. I cant find my dictionary but when using the word 'blythly' I think it is often with a slightly negative conortation (is that spelt correctly?? LOL)

To me, Blythe when followed by any name sounds descriptive of the person whose name follows the 'word' Blythe... as in 'sly Charlotte' or 'disinterested Duncan'..
Does that make sense? "Blythe Elizabeth sat considering whether she could be bothered to eat lunch or whether she should just have another coffee....."

Sorry, but Blythe is probably one of my least favorite names for either gender. The sound is just outright gross, imo; sounds like someone vomiting.

I don't find it the least bit attractive. I would only use it for a middle name. Sorry.

Blythe was a word before it was a surname, and word names are usually technically unisex. And, to me, Blythe sounds pretty unisex so I don't prefer it on either a boy or a girl.

However, Blythe might be a little more unusual on a boy than a girl, what with Blythe for a girl being mentioned a touch more frequenty on these boards as of late, and its popularity perhaps getting a boost from Gwenyth Paltrow's daughter Apple Blythe Alison (Allison?).
