[Opinions] Re: Joy
in reply to a message by Rae
I like Joy. Joyce is alright too, both on boys and girls (my research tells me it's at very least unisex: from either Jodocus or Jodoca, but I haven't found whether the modern Joyce derives from the masculine or the feminine form specifically yet).I also love Joya (also spelled Joia, but I prefer Joya), a medieval name dating back to 1195.I like these names that mean "joy" or "happy"/"happiness" or "bliss":
Aliza
Chara
Farah
Gilah
Letitia, Leticia, and Lettice (medieval/Renaissance form)
Rina
Rowena - "Fame and joy"
Simcha
Gaye and Gaya - Unfortunately now it's connected to "homosexual"
Rada
Ananda
Aylen
Felicity and Felicitas
Gwyneth - Also could mean "white, fair, blessed"
Hana
Shadi
Elysia - And Elysium for a boy
Sachiko - On a Japanese childMirandaEDIT: Because I've yet to learn how to spell "Renaissance"
