Stephanie , but the Welsh name of
Sian is pronounced "
Shan ". If you name your child "
Sian " and then go pronouncing it "Si-Ann", Welsh people may look at you oddly. It would be kinda like pronouncing the boy's name "
Sean " as "Seh-an", which would be dumb, as I'm sure you must realize.
If you're really dead set on giving your child a name that sounds somewhat like "Si-Ann", then perhaps you ought to consider another name entirely. How about "Sienna"?
Or, you could give your child a hippy name -- like Sea-Anne! (Just kidding, please don't even consider that. :)
