Personally, I like the nn Jay (or J) for any J name. It works because its simply the letter the name starts with. He could spell it Jay so it looks more offical in school or at the work place if he didnt like going by Joachim all the time.ETA: I love intial nn, and love combos that have a potential intial nn. Jay or JP would work just fine
