I love it, it's a woman's name in France and emphasis is on the last syllable, e-manu-ELLE pretty but might require a lot of correction if people are not familiar with the name

I prefer Manuela.

I like Emmanuel, and can live with Immanuel (since, if I want to ever use it, I have to spell it with an I). But I'd prefer NEVER to hear this name on a girl. And the spelling looks too weird at glance, and then trendy (-elle ending) after studying for a second.

For a boy, it's great!

I don't know that I'd ever use Emmanuelle in it's full form. At the time it seemed exotic and beautiful to me. Now it just seem unnecessary.

It's very pretty, though not one I'd use.

I grew up in the 80s and the pay cable channels (HBO, Cinemax) always played the "Emmanuelle" films, which are basically French soft-core porn. :-/ So Emmanuelle makes me think of a prostitute, unfortunately. I would link to the imdb.com page for one of them, but it had a naked lady on it. :(
