[Opinions] Daphne
What do you think, and what middle name would you pair it with?

It's it a great name, certainly, but I'm thinking breakout hit in about two years. Makes a wonderful sister for all those new Iris and Violets out there. Too nice a sister. Also...this may just be me, but I usually 'play' with names, and Daphne is too close to "Dafty" for me to ever call my own daughter (I can't use Cecily either- I'd call her Silly for sure. Calling you children Dafty and Silly would be one for the therapist's couch. Come to think of it, though, Daphne Cecilia's not a bad combo...)

I think it's sweet, but the "Scooby Doo" connection is strong. My best friend was considering it for a while, and her favorite combo was Daphne Annemarie (mn honoring 2 family members).

Yah.I was talking to ~Xander about it last night, and he remarked that he would think of Scooby-Doo every time he used it. :-DHopefully, whomever I do end marrying will be much more open-minded to different names!

When I considered Daphne (strongly when I was pregnant with Will and slightly when I was pregnant with Finn), I was thinking of Daphne Elspeth.

It's one of my favorties but I'm already feeling wary that it's a chart climber. I'm seeing it posted too much at this site, and other name sites I visit.

Daphne CarysWould my dad quite happy, though I would spell Karis for him. (From the Greek word)I also love:
Daphne Elisabeth
Daphne Celeste
Daphne Helen - though with the surname I have in mind, it's a toung-twister
Daphne Charlotte- my favoriteIt's weird - Daphne just popped into my head today and I realized what a sweet, beautiful name it was. It's fairly uncommon, too.
