well yes, our NNs differ from American for example, but Belorussia, Russia and Ukraine use the same names and NNs so Veta works for Belorussian lady too.
As for Vika/Vita, i'd say that all Viktorias that I know go by NN Vika.. Vita is less popular and I knew only one Vita (i was 5 at that time :)) And I'm not sure if she was Viktoria or Vitalina.
And I like Vika much more than Vita, maybe because "Vita" resembles of the masculine name Vitaliy..

Thanks for your advice. Maybe I will go for Emiliya ... that sounds good. I chose this board because I noticed there were some genuine Eastern Europeans on here to ask!
