What do you think of it?
And do you think it would always be shortened to Greg?
I'm considering it as a first name, instead of Vaughn Gregor because I don't like the way Vaughn sounds with our last name.

I reminds me of Gregor Samsa and Gregor Mendel. I suppose you could have worse connections, unless you're really put off by Samsa being a giant bug.
I think I like it about as equally as I do Gregory. They're borderline nerdy for me, though that's not necessarily a negative thing. I think it does have a good chance of being shortened to Greg; I'd do it myself if it was my name.
