Rebecca has been on my list for forever! (just didn't have another girl!)
I agree w/ you that although Rebekah is a legitimate spelling, Rebecca looks more feminine and distinguished.
Rebecca Jane is a beautiful classic name.
I wouldn't worry about nicknames either. I know two Rebecca's who have NO nickname... I also know a Katherine who people SWORE up and down would eventually become Katie. Nope, she's 32 now and still just Katherine.
You won't have any regrets if you use Rebecca.
