[Opinions] Abraham...wdyt?
Is it too...presidential? I've been thinking about this name a lot lately for some odd reason. It kind of bothers me that my first association is Abe Lincoln and not the biblical figure, but it's growing on me. So...
1. Who do you first think of when you hear the name Abraham?
2. Would this name work on a child born in the next 1 to 3 years?
3. WDYT of Abraham Joshua? Too biblical? (FYI: Joshua is my bf's fn.)
4. Do you like Bram as a nn?
Thanks!

I like it very much.
I'd hesitate from using it myself because I'm atheist and it does carry a strong biblical association, but I like it very much as a name. I don't necessarily like it less because of its associations (biblical, presidential, or otherwise), but would just prefer to not use it for my own hypothetical kid. I could definitely see it on a child nowadays and would probably be quite tickled if I actually did. :-)
Abraham Joshua is too biblical for me, but I wouldn't think anything negative of it to hear it on someone else's kid. I love the name Bram and think it would make a great nickname. On a similar note I also like Abram quite a bit. Even though it's still biblical (apparently it's just Abraham's prior name), the sound seems maybe more updated or modern to me. *shrug* Of course it's still ancient, but maybe being shorter makes it a little snappier.

1. Who do you first think of when you hear the name Abraham?
- The Biblical Abraham. I'm named Sarah for the Biblical Sarah, so that's probably why!
2. Would this name work on a child born in the next 1 to 3 years?
- Yes I think it would. It would make a nice change from all the Jayden/Cayden/surname trend!
3. WDYT of Abraham Joshua? Too biblical? (FYI: Joshua is my bf's fn.)
- I don't find it too Biblical, but that wouldn't bother me if other people thought it was anyway.
4. Do you like Bram as a nn?
- No not really. I like Abe the best.

I think of the biblical Abraham.
Yes, it would most definitely work.
Abraham Joshua is fine (though Joshua is not a favorite).
Bram is nice, but I prefer Abe.

3. WDYT of Abraham Joshua? Too biblical? (FYI: Joshua is my bf's fn.) Sounds fine to me!
4. Do you like Bram as a nn? Nah, if I used one, I 'd stick with Abe. Bram is OK I guess.

Well I like the name Abraham, but not Abe... but I love the name Abram. I think that Abraham Joshua is a nice combo... but I LOVE Abram Joshua. And it could totally work on a child in the next 1-3 years.
1. Who do you first think of when you hear the name Abraham?
Well, apart from Abraham Lincoln, there was a song we sang as children about "Father Abraham". Father Abraham was also a bearded man who appeared with the smurfs, no connection to the song I think.
2. Would this name work on a child born in the next 1 to 3 years?
Yes, I think so, definately! Old fashioned names are very "in" in Sweden, I don't know exactly how trendy or not they are in America. Regardless, I can very much see Abraham as a good choice for a boy born soon.
3. WDYT of Abraham Joshua? Too biblical? (FYI: Joshua is my bf's fn.)
It is rather biblical, but overwhelmingly so. I'm not a fan of Joshua, but I think it sounds fine, especially since there's the reason for the name.
4. Do you like Bram as a nn?
Yes, much much more than Abe!

1. Who do you first think of when you hear the name Abraham? some of my ancestors with the name
2. Would this name work on a child born in the next 1 to 3 years? sure
3. WDYT of Abraham Joshua? Too biblical? (FYI: Joshua is my bf's fn.) I don't like the flow of Abraham Joshua because both names have the same rhythm. Perhaps your bf's MN?
4. Do you like Bram as a nn? cute!

I kind of like Abraham, but there are terribly strong connections to both Lincoln and the Biblical figure. Not bad ones, mind you, but strong nonetheless. I would love to see a little boy named Abraham, though. It's not trendy or overused, and it's old-fashioned and has personality. :) I prefer Abram, though, with the nn Abe. Not too fond of Bram. And no, I don't think Abraham Joshua is "too Biblical".
Abraham and Joshua work! It's good to have it paired with another biblical name, that way it becomes less president-y. When I saw it at first I thought Abraham Lincoln, but when I saw it paired with Joshua I thought of Abraham from the bible. It's a good combination!
Bram is okay I guess. I don't really like a lot of the nn's for Abraham, but I like Abe or Branny better. I knew someone with this name who went by Abra! It was strange but unique.

I actually thought of Abra, but thought it was too abra-cadabra-ish. :-)
Haha, it is. But it really rubbed off on me after a while!
