I'm having a lot of trouble running the household, but the older ones help me out a lot, which makes it easier. Brant, whom we call Bow a lot (because it sounds nice with Row, they made that up themselves), has been in class with Row since he came here. They've both decided to study motor / auto mechanics and are enjoying it (and making a mess in our garage every singly day!). When Bow just came in our house, he didn't like the whole family thing much. He did like Row, but he saw him more as a friend than a brother. He's had huge fights with Han about his behaviour in the family. Bow refused to eat at the family dinner times, and when he did ate at those times, he didn't want to sit with the family. He slammed quite a few doors before accepting our dinner time routine. He also plays basketball, with Row and Ander, and they have also taken up kickboxing. Especially for Bow and Ander it's a form of redirecting their anger to appropriate places. Ander has created a lot of problem for us. He has ran away twice within the first six months that he lived with us and got kicked out of his highschool (for unrinating on the christmas tree there... We have no idea how he even came up with something like that!). We went to therapy with him, because in the end we feared he might hurt one of the rest of children (he has thrown a chair across the living room and slammed the door once while Maxine had her fingers stuck there, she broke he pinky finger that time). Now he has calmed down a bit, and knows to save his anger for kickboxing. There is still a problem with his self control. When he gets his allowance everything is spent within two days, when he doesn't like what teachers say he just walks out of class (we prefer it over throwing chairs, but still..), he had a job but lost it, because he shouted at his boss. The therapy is improving things, but not at the pace we'd like to see.The strange thing is that lately he's been an angel inside the house. He has come to love his brothers and sisters a lot and especially Livie, he reads to her in French at bed time and she loves it. Elias love sit as well and has even started saying French words :) Both Han and I were stunned by his infinitive patience when it comes to children, while he's so agressive towards adults. He has made the decorations in the rooms of the little children; his skill in drawing is absolutely amazing. He doesn't want to make a career out of it though. Livie has loved being in our family, although the first month was difficult. I had taken French lessons to be able to communicate with her a bit better, but she took up English withing six months. She's crazy about Ander, and about Elias and Oberon. She wants to helps all the time in the kitchen and with feeding the baby. She's so sweet! She'll start school soon, we think she'll be fine, but we're still a little nervous.Odi (Elias, but we liked his mn better so we used that, and from that came Odi) has been doing fine. He's a bit quiter than the others, but still very much a part of our family. He's very attached to Max who acts like she's his mother. We let her do this becuase it makes both of them very happy. Row was happy to have an older brother and enjoys his company. He's ok with having a lot of brothers and sisters, but doesn't really interact woith all of them.Chris has had a lot of problems when our adopted children came to live with us. He doesn't get as much time with me and Han anymore and he doesn't like that. He feels that the other children aren't really a part of the family and he shows that he's annoyed by spending as much time as possible out of our house, with friends mostly. We've been trying to do something about his feelings but with little success so far. We're glad he has friends to talk to, when hedoesn't feel like he can talk to us. Max was happy with Odi joining our family. She's happy to mother over him. She doesn't care much about Ander and Bow, she hardly ever plays with them. She also likes Livie and plays with dolls with her a lot. Obi doesn't know better than to have a big family, he enjoys all the attention he gets :)
