This is one of my favorite names, and I'm not Russian. There are plenty of people who use Irish names who aren't Irish, etc. Plus, I've heard it used on Americans before. It's not like
Olga or
Helga, which is very rare in these parts.
Natasha is not overly popular, but I do also like it as a nickname for
Natalia. I'm always on the fence as to whether I prefer it as a full name or a nick name.
When I like it as a full name, I like the nicknames
Nat, Natty/Nattie, and
Tasha. I used to not like
Tasha, but it has really grown on my lately.
So, basically, I love the name, and I wouldn't assume Russian immediately.
