I am the same way. I think Jonah is great, and I would never shorten it to the generic "Joe."

I love it! I don't really like the nn Joe either, but I don't think he'd get the nn if you didn't use it when he's young, you know? Anyway, great name in my book :)

I love the name Jonah, it's great. My problem is that I love too many boy J names though! I'm not sure of any other nn's you could use for Jonah, besides Joe, sorry.

I've known a couple of Jonahs and they are not usually called Joe, just so you know. :b I really like Jonah but I prefer Jonas for some reason.
