Especially because you're dancing around the issue. You can phrase it however way you like, but your opinion is clear. The problem isn't the words you use, it's the intention behind them, and in this case, it's very obvious you think little of the name Jasmine or the people who use it. I'm not saying I've never called a name trashy, but just say it (perhaps with an acknowledgment that you're not trying to offend anyone), and move on. By going to such pains to act like you're not prejudiced, it just highlights the fact that you are even moreso.
