Julia Mary has been my second favorite girls name/combo for almost two years now, but lately I've really been loving Lena a lot and am thinking that it sounds a bit better in a sibset with a sister Amy and a brother Ciaran. So I need a little help and your opinions.

Which do you like better - Lena or Julia?
Does Lena sound better with Amy & Ciaran than Julia does?

Well, I might be biased, but I prefer Julia. Lena sounds very insubstantial and nicknamey to me.

Julia, Amy and Ciaran sounds better to me.

Julia is so much better than Lena. Lena is so strange to me. Julia Rose would be a nice combo.

1. Lena is very nice, but I'm kind of iffy about it because it sounds kind of boring and nicknamey to me.
2. I much prefer Julia. (Julia Mary is a lovely combo, btw!)
3. I think they both sound fine with Amy and Ciaran.
4. I like Lena Grace the best.

I love them both, but Lena is one that has really grown on me after I saw Alexis Bledel in the sisterhood of the traveling pants...before that I'd only heard old ladies named Lena.

I think I'd go with Lena.

WDYTO Lena as a first name? - I like it (can't decide if I prefer LAY-nah or LEE-nah, though) but prefer it as a nn for Helena.
Which do you like better - Lena or Julia? - I adore Julia, despite its popularity.
Does Lena sound better with Amy & Ciaran than Julia does? - I think Julia "fits" in better but I'm not sure why. :b

I like the name lena better than julia. As for the comb, I like Lena Grace.

How are you pronouncing Lena?

If you are pronouncing it LEE-nuh, I like it. LAY-nuh sounds incomplete (I like Elena).

Personally, I like Julia better, but Lena is much less common. I think Julia sounds better in that sibset, but Lena is a good fit, too.

I really like Lena Pearl, Lena Joyce, and Lena Beatrice. I'd also like Lena Beatrix.

I love Elena and Helena and also Marlena so I adore that lay-nuh sound and have found myself leaning towards that pronounciation recently. I know that it's usually pronounced lee-nuh and I like that too, especially because it would sort of honor my mom's mn Lee.

I do like Lena Beatrix and that is a possibility because Beatrix is my sister's mn. I'm also loving the combo Lena Mary Beatrice at the moment. WDYT?

Lena is pretty name. I like both Lena and Julia, but I would be more likely to use Lena myself because Julia is so common. Have you considered using Juliet / Juliette or Juliana / Julianna instead since they are not as common as Julia? Since Amy and Ciaran are not the same style, I do not think that it really matter whether you choose Julia or Amy. Julia seems to go better with Amy and Lena seems to go better with Ciaran, but I think that either name would work with this sibset as a whole.

I like Lena Claire and Lena Pearl the best out of your combos.

Thanks for your comments. I have been wondering lately if Julia is common. I still love it but Juliet is creeping up on me and I've always loved Juliana a lot but was afraid it didn't sound right with Amy. Amy & Juliana, Juliana & Amy. See what I mean? Amy & Juliet flows a but better imo but Amy seems a little plain next to both Julana and Juliet. WDYT?

Now Amy and Lena (lee-nuh) just seem to be sort of the same style, short and sweet. I also love Elena and Helena but don't think they would be quite right with Amy either. :(

I think you are right about Lena sounding better with Ciaran, but Amy just doesn't go? Hmm...

Julia fits better with Amy and Ciaran then Lena in my opinion. Lena is just an okay name. Julia Mary doesn't sounds right to me. But that is because I strongly dislike Mary. Lena Claire sounds best of the combos you listed.
