I have a Noah in my group, he's 18 months. I've seen a few others in our building, maybe 3 or 4 total, all under the age of 3. So I guess it's pretty popular. As for alternatives, I've seen it spelled "Noa", and I know an adult called Noe, pronounced NO-ay.

Noa is the feminine version of the name.

It's okay. I'm not a huge fan of the name, but it doesn't strike me as bad, either.

How about Jonah or Jonas? There's also Noam, which is fairly unpopular outside of Jewish communities probably because it is easy to tease ("Noam the Gnome"). Noam Chomsky is a great namesake though.

Noah's not a very popular name around here (Kentucky). I know it was kind of popular in the mid to late 90s, but I think the popularity has died down somewhat making it safe enough to use again. If Noah puts you off, maybe try Noam, the Hebrew version of the name. It has a wonderful association in Noam Chomsky.

Noah's a nice name. So what if it's popular? Juliana and Donovan are pretty popular too.My only trouble with Noah is, and I only realized this recently, that when he gets a bit older, the age where you have to tell him no a lot, saying "No, Noah" sounds kind of funny. :)

I don't think it sound funny. It sounds so sweet!
But, that is something to consider.
Thankyou!Future Proud Mom of Juliana Faith or Donovan Pierce.
