[Opinions] Pearl WDYT
Met a sweet little girl who moved into the house next door to my mom. She is about age 11 and her name is Pearl. She is tomboyish and very active but pretty with long chestnut hair and long legs and arms. I have always thought of this name as being old ladyish. Now I kind of like it. WDYT

This name is up and coming in my opinion. I think people (like me) are beginning to see it as a fresh new alternative to all the overused yuppie names. I really like it. I also dearly love Perla.
It still sounds old ladyish to me. I can't picture it on a little girl, especially a tom boy!
Pearl is one of the few word names I like. I would only use it with a considerably frilly mn (partly because I love frilly names, but also because Pearl is quite simple).
It works for both tomboys (for its simplicity) and girly girls (because of the meaning).

Generally I'm fond of my own accent, but "pearl" just does not work in it - it sounds identical to "peril".
It reminds me of The Scarlet Letter. I think it sounds old ladyish too. Also, I dislike the association with actual pearls, so that's another reason I don't really like it.
Really like Pearl. It's very sweet and refreshing.
I agree!
