[Opinions] Re: Kore
I do not like the name Cory. However the word Kore (also spelled Cora) is greek for a maiden or girl, generally referring to statues. The plural is Korai. It is not pronounced "Cory" but Kor-ah. Sorry for the lecture, i'm a classical historian, I cant help it.

No, not at all - wouldn't want to go around pronouncing a name wrongly all the time :-) I was influenced, I suppose, by Phoebe and Zoe. But the name Kore definitely isn't pronounced as such?

Greek vowel cominations are very strange. For instance Boeotia is pronounced Bee-o-sh-ah. An e on the end of a word is pronounced ee usually, but not in this case. I have heard Kore pronounced Kor-ay as well but it should be a short vowel. Remember too that ancient greek is pronounced differently than modern greek!

Ah, I see. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it :-) I think I'll stick to Cora, though, to avoid confusion!
