Help[Opinions] Bram WDYT?
Lately I've been thinking of the name Bram. Someone at this site mentioned it and it's been in my head ever since. I really like it because it sounds strong and a bit mysterious. My concern is that the name may have sinister connotations for some, since it has been borne by Bram Stoker (author of Dracula) and Bram Bones (from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow) My question is: WDYTO Bram? Is it spooky or cool?
Another question: do you think Bram can work as an independent name? Can you think of any other names, besides Abraham and Abram, that could have Bram as a nn?

Love it because...
One of my close friends, Tara, her 6- or 7-year-old brother's name is Bram and he is the coolest little kid ever - he already has this impeccable style and taste in clothes and in everything, it's so funny. His last name also starts with "Br" so his name is very catchy and fits him well.
The name is so unique. I love it for a boy. =]

Yes, yes!! I mentioned it the other days as a mn for Elias - Elias Bram. So, I obviously like it quite a bit. DH nixed it, however. :( He too thought of Bram Stoker, but I don't think that is necessarily a bad connotation - a famous author! I didn't know about Bram Bones. But, regardless, I don't think these two people make the name scary enough not to use. Not at all. I think it is simply a very cool name, especially for only being one syllable. I definitely think it can work as an independent name!

Both - it's spooky and cool, IMO :-) I really like it. I think it's a strong and a mysterious name, too. I think it's strong enough to stand on its own (as opposed to being a mere NN) because it doesn't have that sickenly sweet, annoyingly cutesy, unintellectual, or too informal feel to it some nicknames have.
It could be a NN for Bertram, too.

I like it! It can definitely work on its own, but I have to say I also like Abraham, so wouldn't mind it as a nn.

I think it's both, and I think it works wonderfully as a full name. It could also be a nickname for Bramble, but I'm pretty sure I'm alone in finding that one at all attractive (hey, if Briar's fair game, why not?).

I love the connection with Bram Stoker I think its dark but cool and boys will love it!
Bram definately can be used by itself, its so much nicer than Abraham (so old and boring) and Abram!
