Cambria's previous post got me thinking about Dusty for a girl. I've known one girl named Dusty. I don't like it as a full given name, but I'd love it as a nn for something else. What are some names Dusty could be a nn for?

I know a girl named Dustynne. Most unattractive name ever (is it even a real name), but the NN would work.

Hmm...I turned to BTN for help...but all I could find was Desta and Idesta. I have only heard Dusty as a nn for Dustin. One suggested Dustine, which would be the feminine form I guess... Justin - Justine.

(Though with the negative connotations of the name, I highly doubt people would use it.)

I think Dusty is mostly just a pet name (from a person's looks/personality) rather than a nickname.
