not exactly...Saoirse is not exactly pron. SEER-sha. The 'aoi' combo doesn't make an 'ee' sound. It is softer than that. To hear proper pronunciation go to babynamesofireland.com and you can hear Frank McCourt say different Irish names.

SEER-shaThe pronunciation's listed in its entry in the BtN database. All you have to do to go to a name's entry is click on the name's blue underlined hyperlink. If the name's in the database and the author of the post checks the hyperlink box on the message posting form, the name will have a hyperlink.Miranda
