I'm okay with respelling it to be phonetic.
Nevaeh's a real name, "means" heaven backwards, and Nevea's an alternate spelling. Personally, I'd spell it Nevaea or Neveia because it's more phonetic. I think the "snow" meaning is kind of artificial, but if you derived Nevea from
Neva, then you did - nobody can argue. Nevea is a nicer spelling than
Nevaeh, in my opinion; it's simpler and more phonetic. I think the "based on
Neva" thing is nice. Just artificial.
I think you'd be more honest to just shamelessly say you invented Nevea and were inspired by
Neva and
Nevaeh. I mean, when you're talking about names such as
Nevaeh, pretending to care about their "official" origin and meaning is kind of a joke. This is creative naming territory. Own it. Inventing an etymology won't get the approval of traditional namers - if you are worried about their approval, you'll have to call her
Neva or
Heaven.
