Help[Opinions] Serena & Corinna.
Alright, so THANK YOU all for responding to my post about this a few days ago, but... it didn't help at all.
Corinna - 12 votes.
Serena - 12 votes.

Alright, so now I'm asking your opinions of each of the names.
The names rhyme with each other, which is why I'll only ever use one. I like the variant Corinne, but it's a close friends name and I'd feel weird using it as a FN.
- The middle name will DEFINITELY be Marie Elizabeth.
- The last name is a very common one in North American starting with the letter "H".
- A second daughter will be "Helena Audrey".
So based on all of this, what do you think of the each of the combos and taking into account the way the name sounds in it's entirety, which do you prefer?

Serena is very pretty as well, but it feels trendy to me, even though it's very uncommon. I do love it, though.

My vote is for Serena, probably because even though it's not the same name, Corrina is still very close to Corrine, which you mentioned is a close friend's name.
People, in general, would rather die than forgive. It's that hard. If God said in plain language, "I'm giving you a choice, forgive or die," a lot of people would just go ahead and order their coffin.

I love each of these as they have become favorites of mine in the last year or so. I must have missed your other post on this but I'm curious to see what everyone thinks of these two since I love them as well.
I tend to lean more towards Corinna anyway, but given the fact that she'd have a sister named Helena, I prefer Helena and Corinna to Helena and Serena. They just look so similar that I'm tempted to pronounce Helena as he-LEEN-a. They may not rhyme but they *look* like they rhyme. Hope that makes sense.

Because I'm using Marie to honour my mother (it's her middle name) and Elizabeth to honour my grandmother (it's her middle name but she uses it as her first). Plus, Elizabeth is my middle name as well so I'm partial to it.

Well, if Helena is that meaningful to you, then I'd say it's not the end of the world if Serena and Helena look similar. After all, their names would be pronounced differently and would be rarely listed together. I don't really think Serena and Helena are that close based on the way you're planning to pronounce them. Then again, I have a dd named AnNA and would likely name another dd MariNA and that doesn't bother me one bit.
Personally, if Helena had a lot of meaning to me, I'd let my dh have Serena if it made him happy. Unfortunately, my dh doesn't care for Corinna or Serena. :-(

I love Corinna Marie Elizabeth. I think Corinna's style fits better with your middle names and I think it sounds like more of a classic, which fits well with Helena. Also, for some reason I think Corinna is more feminine. Just my thoughts!

I love Corinna, but Serena seems a little spacey and flighty to me. Plus, Serena has the tennis connection to Serena Williams, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

I just don't really look at it period, heh. I could care less about the existance of the Williams' sisters. Plus, by the time I have children, I'm sure they'll have retired. Thanks for the input, though.

Well, I like both about equally. But Corinna and Serena do not rhyme, imo. I would assume Corinna was cor-INN-ah and Serena was seh-REE-nah. I guess you're saying Corinna like I say Corrina, though.
However, how are you pronouncing Helena? If it's heh-LEE-nah, please don't use it as a sibling to either Corinna or Serena. Way too rhyme-y! Helen-ah would probably sound best as a sister to either one, but even heh-LAY-nah is a bit too similar in sound, IMO. Also Helena and Serena, even if they don't rhyme, look too similar for sisters to me, too. :-/

Corinna comes from the name Korinna, which all similar names stem from (Corrina, Corinne, etc.). It is prounounced Cor-EE-nah, and I prefer this spelling because it is closest to the original (which I would prefer to use, but don't like the K).
We'd pronounce it Heh-LAY-nah. I'm not that worried about them looking similar. Plus, we wouldn't call them their full names all that often; we tend to use nicknames. I kind of wanted to know if they were too similar, but I'm thinking now that it doesn't really matter to me... it's not as though they'll always be a sibset after all. But thanks for the input!

I love both names equally so I think I'd have the exact same problem if I was in your situation!
So, purely based on sound, Corinna GMV. I think it's because Serena has an EE sound and then leads onto another EE sound in Marie.
