[Opinions] Twins' names Malia and Maile - WDYT?
I saw Supernanny and there was a family with four children, Haeley, Malia, Maile and Layton (the baby, a boy).
Malia (Ma-LEE-a) and Maile (My-lee) are pretty but I found them two similar for twins.
And I would never have guessed that Maile was pronounced as My-lee, I would have thought it was pronounced as May-lee or as Mail.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams."

There are a little to similar- twins must have differences to distinguish between them
Way, way, WAY too close for siblings.
But what do you expect from a mother who has a hissy fit because her kids don't want to dress exactly alike every single day? (If I'm thinking of the right episode.)

These children have names that are way too similar AND way too different. Two of them are Hawaiian and two of them are not. The two Hawaiian ones sound almost exactly the same, but one of them is actually Hawaiian and the other is a translation of an English name. If I had been the parents, I would have named the children Noelani, Leilani, Maile, and Keanu. (Leilani and Maile are the twins; both names are actually Hawaiian and have to do with flowers, and you could call them Mai and Lei if you wanted to. Actually, all of the names are actually Hawaiian.)
I don't find either name attractive, to be honest. Together, they're even worse, but neither one endears itself to me alone. Same is true of Haeley and Layton.
Overall, I give it a yawn-wince.

They are Hawaiian
Therefore this pronounciation of Maile. And Malia is the Hawaiian form of Maria, so it has nothing to do with the Latin "mal".
I think both names are pretty but really confusing for twins.

Bleh I hate all the names, especially Maile which seems so cutesy. Fair enough if your Hawaiian, but the majority of people who are using them arent!

They did not look Hawaiian to me
They looked like ordinary Caucasian Americans and dad was Shaun and mom was Tami. Of course, one of them might still be from Hawaii, but my guess is that they just loved the names.
I think the names are pretty but bad twins' names. And Maile was the real troublemaker, screaming for hours if she did not get her way. Not at all as sweet as you'd expect from her name! Of course, she was just strong-willed and the parents did not know how to handle her. But Supernanny fixed everything, as always.
