I used to adore this name. I still like it but it has more of a trendy feel to me now. :-/
I used to know sisters named Anja (AHN-yah) Maria and Calla Elizabeth. Their mother said they got Calla's name from The Gummy Bears cartoon tv show (anyone remember that?) and also from the song from Mary Poppins--superCALLAfrajulisticexpeealladocious. Or however the hell you spell it. :) I thought that was cute, lol. And they are such a sweet family and gorgeous little girls, so I have good associations with the name Calla. BTW, one of my favorite combos used to be Calla Justine.

Haha, I remember the Gummy Bears! The funny thing is, I've liked the name Calla for a few months now, after I met a little girl with the name (before that I honestly had never heard the name). And then a few weeks ago, my friends and I were talking about shows we used to watch when we were little. I reeled off a bunch of them, but there was one show I couldn't recall the name of. All I could actually remember was an image of a castle, and I was pretty sure there was a blonde haired character in the show. So I researched it online, and realized it was the Gummy Bears. And the character I vaguely remembered ended up being Princess Calla! So I guess I have heard the name before, but I just couldn't remember it :) Maybe that was a sign that I'm supposed to use this name :)
