[Opinions] Re: Bronte

I say it as Brawn-tee (rhymes with "jaunty"). I don't see how it's traditionally male. It has no steady male usage so far as I know, and I've only heard of it on females. It makes more sense to me as a girls' name, since the most obvious namesakes are women.
I want to like it because of what it stands for, but I just can't bring myself to do so. It's the sound ... the start of brontosaurus ... and the general pretensiousness of naming a child Bronte. It's a lot to live up to! Like Monet.
