[Opinions] Awful Twin names
Ok, so I recently met a lady who has 6yo twins named Nicholas and Nicole, nn "Nick" and "Nikki". Is that not horrible?
And then I heard of twins named Justin and Justus.
What goes through these people's heads when they do this?!? I would have killed my parents if they had given me and my twin sister names like that!

Nicholas and Nicole aren't too bad, but Justin and Justus? No. Justin is old 90s and I've through with it. Justus is obnoxious.

I was watching Rugrats with my younger sister and brother and I noticed what Phil and Lil's real names are: Philip and Lillian
If people named their kids something like that it would just be ok, as nn can always be changed, bust Justin and Justus and Nicholas and Nicole are eurgh!

My friend's twin cousins were named Peter & Peter Peters. I don't know if one went by a mn or a nn.

My family is full of multiples including myself so I really don't think much about the similar names that have been given. My brother and I have first names that start with the same letter - John and Justin (even though we go by Johnny & Sammy - his middle name). Our older brother and his wife have triplets with very different names - Joshua Alan, Anna Jane, and Niklas Avery and their little sister Nicole Dakota really has a closer name to Niklas than the triplets have. I have twin boys that have similar names but different enough to be ok - Markus Paul and Mattias Petr and we call them Mark and Matt. I think names that are similar to the extreme such as Nick and Nikki aren't good and only confusing but names like Mark and Matt are good names.

Nothing is going through their heads when they choose these awful names. There's nothing up there but air.I once knew a set of twins, Fred and Fredrick. They'd get upset if you tried to ask why they were named the same name. "I'm Fred. He's fred-RICK." And yes, they were identical.

I don't think it's horrible. I once made a sibset that included twins Nikolas and Nikoletta (they were Greek). ------------------------------------------
Time to unload the gigantic lists of names running rampant in my head...

I personally think it's tacky to name children in the same family, much less twins, a variant of the same name. I've known twins named Danny & Daniel (both boys; not just a variant but essentially the same name), Anthony & Antonio, Danielle & Daniel, Alex (b) & Alexandria, etc. Ugh.

You know even though I wouldn't do it I think that Nicolas( I prefer Nicolaus) and Nicole is kind of cute. Justin and Justus is bad though, I don't really like it.I know a set of twins named Kaylee and Kylie, but they're really weird. I don't like that though it's to similar.
