[Facts] Magda
I'm wondering about the name Magda and specifically one of the comments. It says, "Also exists as a full name, not only as a pet form." Does it? I've always known Magda as a short form of Magdalena so perhaps that is a mistake? Someone could give his/her child a short form and not know otherwise . . .

Magda is used as a full name here in Sweden, although it's rather rare.Short and sweet like Swedish summer....

I've heard Magda used as a full name here in the Netherlands. Not as Magdalena "Magda", but just as Magda. (most Dutch give their children pet/short forms of names as full names) It's still derived from Magda, so it doesn't have a different origin or anything. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thanks. I was speaking to a couple last night. They have a teenage daughter named Magda and they claimed for Magda to be a total separate name from Magdalena.
